ARE for Football/Stadiums
The Stadium Autism Reality Experience (ARE for Football/Stadiums) training course was developed in response to the increasing need for greater understanding of autism within football and stadium environments. Every day, stadiums welcome autistic fans, staff, and visitors, highlighting the crucial need for comprehensive training that equips teams with the knowledge and confidence to effectively engage with neurodiverse individuals.
By providing the right training and empowering staff with practical knowledge, venues can improve communication, enhance fan experience, and promote inclusion while maintaining high safety and wellbeing standards for everyone.
The production of the STADIUM ARE program received support from Training2Care, a leading organisation in immersive training and experiential learning.
The Stadium ARE program takes viewers through a typical matchday experience, from arriving at the stadium and entering through turnstiles to navigating crowds, seating areas, facilities, and interactions with staff. By recognising the challenges that neurodiverse individuals may experience and implementing simple, practical strategies, organisations can create a more supportive, enjoyable, and inclusive environment for all.
The Stadium version is ideally suited for:
- Stewards and matchday staff
- Security teams
- Event and operations managers
- Football clubs and stadium operators
- Customer-facing stadium teams
- Organisations committed to inclusive fan experiences
